GGZ kaart

In eastern South Limburg, more than 130 general practitioners have joined forces to form the HuisartsenOZL care group. This care organisation for and by general practitioners arranges the 24/7 hours of general practitioner care for the residents through one central desk. These general practitioners must refer their patients to care providers for specific complaints, conditions and/or treatments. However, it is not easy to compare all healthcare providers, especially the comparison of treatment waiting times.

How are we looking back on this project?

We have experienced the cooperation with HuisartsenOZL as pleasant. In the beginning, there were still uncertainties about the functionalities; thanks to the support of several stakeholders at HuisartsenOZL, a better decision could be reached together. Once again, we have seen that good research is half the battle!

What was needed?

Demand from the company

HuisartsenOZL approached CularBytes with the request to develop a small web application with a clear overview of all connected healthcare providers. This is to create an overview of all healthcare providers and their waiting times per treatment. It should be easy for general practitioners to search for a care provider in their area on the basis of a complaint, treatment or disorder.

How did we achieve this?

Technical implementation

CularBytes has worked hard to create an easy-to-use web application. For example, any healthcare provider can now register and publish the treatments they provide with correct waiting times. Based on the geo-location of the address, a google-maps map can easily be displayed with all the sought-after healthcare providers in the area. Initially, this seemed to be a clear application, but the difficulty lies in correctly translating the wishes into a suitable IT solution, which clearly required more than one stakeholder.

Each healthcare provider is then also given a monthly request to review and update the waiting times so that they are up to date.

Simple administration overview for administrators to approve, modify or delete new healthcare providers
Design
Search by healthcare provider on the basis of complaint, disorder or treatment. A location + radius can be specified in the search query
Displaying the “GGZ kaart”: Displaying search results with google maps map in order to easily select a healthcare provider.
